Q: There’s a growing focus on creative capital stacks and alternative financing solutions. How is PACE financing being used in the current market to help make multifamily deals viable in New York? 

 

"I often jokingly tell people the 'C' in C-PACE stands for 'Creative.'   (It actually stands for 'Commercial'). But really, my loans solve problems. We do everything from filling in senior loan proceeds gaps, to blending down the cost of high-yield bridge debt, to covering cost overruns, and more."

Our SVP of Originations Robbie is the second person to be featured in our Real People of PLG series! Read below to see his answers to some of our questions.

Why did you decide to go into finance/real estate?

I started my career in finance and then spent time working in tech. After leaving Google in 2015, I started a job search premised on a new question: what do I like to think about? Strangely, I hadn't ever thought about work through that lens, but the answer was obvious: real estate. I've been captivated by architecture, design, and the built environment since childhood so the realization I should get paid to think about what I was already thinking about was somewhat of a revelation.

What’s your favorite place to travel?

Hmmm… this is tough because I love travel. I’d have to say anywhere foreign or anywhere with mountains.
