2025 NAIOP Awards of Excellence - Burlap Lofts

Burlap Lofts reimagines two century-old buildings in Northeast Minneapolis as a 50,000 square foot Class A office and retail destination. A new mass timber addition unites the structures, introducing a central elevator and more than 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space. Over 12 months, the project restored exposed brick and heavy timbers while adding 160 new windows, modern systems, and full accessibility. Tenants now enjoy sandblasted brick walls, timber ceilings, private call booths, a roof garden lounge, and flexible workspaces. The result is a vibrant, amenity-rich hub that blends historic character with modern design and sustainable performance.
